Project Highlights

• The Agoro Carbon Cropland program implements regenerative agriculture to remove GHG emissions from agricultural cropland.
• The project currently includes 330,000 acres of farmland with further expansion underway. The project is projected to remove approximately 8.7 million tCO2e throughout its lifecycle.
• Agoro Carbon is the only developer offering SD VISta certified agricultural carbon credits.
• Beyond carbon sequestration, regenerative agriculture practices promote: (1) Reduced erosion, (2) improved water management, and (3) greater biological diversity.

The Methodology

Improved Agricultural Land Management projects incentivize a variety of improved practices including improved fertilizer use, reduced tillage, crop rotations and rotational grazing. These practices enhance carbon sequestration in the soil and reduce methane and nitrous oxide emissions. Additionally, these projects can effect improved soil health, erosion reduction, and improved economic revenue for farmers involved.

Project Description

The Agoro Carbon Cropland project is delivering a solution to the world’s carbon challenge that is grounded in the soil. The project implements a package of regenerative agricultural land management activities such as (but not limited to) reduced and zero tillage and cover cropping to remove GHG emissions from agricultural cropland.

The project provides the financial, agronomic, and educational support needed for growers to implement regenerative land management practices on croplands that not only produce agricultural products sustainably and profitably but also have a positive impact on climate change.

Agoro Carbon credits are additional, encompass strong permanence characteristics, contribute to a variety of benefits beyond carbon sequestration, and are reinforced by a robust MRV framework underpinned by physical soil sample measurements. Investing in Agoro Carbon quality credits supports the global transformation of agriculture that will benefit farmers and the planet.

These projects incorporate verified Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Climate Action.
